A Rare Case of Giant Coronary Aneurysm in a 5- Year- Old Child
Coronary aneurysms are typically seen in association with Kawasaki disease and only in rare instances, they are reported to be congenital or idiopathic. Here we report a case of a five year old boy who was found to have an idiopathic right coronary artery aneurysm. He presented with complaints of recurrent respiratory tract infections. His examination and investigations did not reveal any of th...
متن کاملSpontaneous thrombosis of a basilar artery traumatic aneurysm in a child.
Traumatic aneurysms are rare and occur most commonly in young adults; however, the relative frequency in the pediatric population is high, owing to the low prevalence of congenital saccular aneurysms in children. Traumatic aneurysms typically involve the anterior circulation, and spontaneous thrombosis is uncommon; hence, surgery is usually necessary. We present a case of a posttraumatic aneury...
متن کاملGiant LV Thrombose and Thrombosed Coronary Aneurysm in an Infant with Kawasaki Disease
Background Kawasaki disease (KD) also known as mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome is the febrile and self-limited vasculitis that occurs in children of all ages, especially younger than five years of age. Here, we describe a case of Kawasaki disease with coronary artery aneurysm and a big clot in LV with a diameter of 1.5 cm. <stron...
متن کاملSpontaneous thrombosis in giant intracranial aneurysms.
Twelve patients in a series of 22 with giant intracranial aneurysms demonstrated neuroradiological features of partial or total spontaneous intra-aneurysmal thrombosis. The presence of this intra-aneurysmal clot significantly altered the computed tomographic appearance of the giant aneurysm. Massive intra-aneurysmal thrombosis did not protect against subarachnoid haemorrhage and the likelihood ...
متن کاملUnruptured Giant Aneurysm of The Inferior Pancreaticoduodenal Artery with Superior Mesenteric Artery Stenosis Obstructed by Spontaneous Thrombosis After Superior Mesenteric Artery Angioplasty: A Case Report
Most pancreaticoduodenal artery aneurysms involve celiac trunk stenosis or occlusion. Few cases have been related to superior mesenteric artery (SMA) stenosis, and none of these was treated with SMA angioplasty before transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE) or operative resection of the aneurysm. We treated a 79-year-old woman with incidentally detected inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery ane...
